Hotter Than Hell But It Is Friday...So It's Okay!

Summer is definitely here in NOLA and although I cannot stand the heat I love the summer rains. Sunny one minute and then the clouds provide us with shade and you hear distant thunder.  Then if we are lucky it will rain and give us some relief but sometimes it just increases the humidity and NOLA becomes one big sauna! So many things have been happening...mostly with kids but who wants to hear about that? Today I am officially back in the studio. Hooah! I am making some rings that have to be enameled but I hit a wall.   Paralysis ensued and the ring sat on my bench for about two weeks!  Yes...it has been that long.  I think my Muse took a vacation. It was all about choosing a color.  So I decided to make myself some sample colors.   How tedious, right? I was told that the cure for creative block was to go into the studio and start doing tedious things, i.e. make 30 pairs of ear wires.  That is a cure to get unblocked for sure...

New Kid On The Block

Looks like summer is here and with summer comes change.  People move out but then people move in. Introducing you to our new neighbor up the street. CoQ RougE Gallery is located at 4815 Magazine St.   504.266.0440 Patricia Low is the owner/artist of CoQ RougE and her story is one that everyone dreams about.  Well...I dream about!  Patricia, transplanted from California, many moons ago, where she majored in Fine Arts but after hearing all the "starving artist" stories about actually starving she decided to switch her major to graphic design.   However, working here in NOLA as a graphic artist did not stop her strong desire to create pieces of art, from painting... Rain, Rain, Go Away...

cause Kalaya wants to come out and play!   It is just as well that it is raining because I really need to be in the studio anyway and has it really been two weeks without a post?  For the last two weeks all I have been doing is playing, playing, and then played some more!  Hehehe!!! And here I am...Wednesday, April 3rd with only 2 1/2 days left until Freret Fest this Saturday! My latest creation is for that Starbucks junkie in your life.
